Actor, Casting Agent, MC, Radio Personality & Community Builder
Mondli Thusi, a versatile actor hailing from Newcastle in KwaZulu- Natal, South Africa, recently joined Generations: The Legacy; where he portrays the character Isaac on SABC 1.
Early Career in Media
Mondli’s journey in media and entertainment began in 2012 as a newsreader. His versatility
quickly shone through as he expanded into producing and radio presenting, eventually rising
to Programmes Manager at Newcastle Community Radio, one of KwaZulu-Natal’s leading
stations. His newsroom experience also included reporting, where he sharpened his
storytelling and editorial skills.
Television & Acting Career
His transition into television began with Thanks Ma Productions, where he interned on
Seasons 1 and 2 of Uthando Nesthembu. This sparked his passion for on-screen work,
leading to his first cameo role in 2017 as a policeman on Isibaya (Bomb Productions).
Since then, Mondli has built a diverse acting portfolio with appearances in:
Isibaya (Mzansi Magic), Winner Takes All (SABC1,) Moment In-Between (SABC1), Rethink
(Cinema), Isono (BET Africa), Lethapo (SABC2), Seriously Single (Netflix), Ufelani (Moja
Love), Nqobile (Mzansi Magic),Scandal! (eTV), 016 FM (Showmax), Smoke & Mirrors (eTV),

Programme Director
In this role, he has successfully overseen major corporate events, government and municipal
functions, presented awards on Behind the Scenes (Moja Love), and managed private
engagements with excellence.

In 2020, Mondli launched Stars of Africa, a production house and casting agency dedicated to scouting and nurturing talent. Today, it stands as one of South Africa’s leading platforms connecting performers with film and television productions. Stars of Africa Media proudly represents a diverse pool of talent, embracing all races, genders, and sizes from across the nation.

Community Impact
Beyond the screen, Mondli is deeply committed to social upliftment. In 2014, he founded the
Bhejane and Friends Foundation, which supports youth through bursaries, housing
initiatives, and food relief programmes. His vision is to empower young people and create
lasting change in communities.
